Walking beam tandem axel works fantastic!!
Needless to say, we are thrilled. The tandem axle walking beam keeps the 412 trailer bed level while the tires are churning up and down over bumps and ruts. Without a doubt it is a huge improvement and will amplify itself in smoother operation and longer machine life.
Don in Idaho said they had to pass up a couple of custom jobs because the corrigations in the field were more than they wanted to put their 412 through. I think this will make those jobs attractive.
It will also give the 412 a lot more stability because when one wheel is in a hole, the other wheel in the tandem axle is on high ground supporting the machine. There has been some rather serous damage to 412’s that have flipped over because of rough terrain.
I have established a price FOB Tulelake of $400 for the pair of tandem axles which includes two tires and wheels. We have engeneered the walking beam tandem axles so they will fit on all 412’s in the field today.
